CONGRESSMAN WALZ ANNOUNCES 2008 SOUTHERN MINNESOTA FEDERAL GRANT WORKSHOP
Rochester, MN — Today, Congressman Walz announced that he will host a federal grant workshop on December 3rd in the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester. IRS SEEKS TO RETURN REFUNDS AND ECONOMIC STIMULUS PAYMENTS TO399 SOUTHERN MINNESOTANS
MANKATO MN — Today, Congressman Walz and the Internal Revenue Service announced that 399 southern Minnesotans had either their economic stimulus check or their regular refund checks returned by the U.S. Postal Service due to mailing address errors. Through September 2008, the government distributed 116 million economic stimulus payments with only about 279,000 checks being undeliverable. ... (more)

WALZ ANNOUNCES $7.4 MILLION IN FUNDING FOR FLOOD RAVAGED ROADS
SOUTHEASTERN, MN — Today, Congressman Tim Walz announced a federal grant of $7,461,465 for federal roads and highways damaged by flood waters in August of 2007. The following seven counties were affected by the flooding: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Steele, Wabasha, Winona, and Dodge.... (more)

WALZ PARTICIPATES IN HEARING INVESTIGATING WALL STREET ABUSES
WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, Congressman Tim Walz questioned government officials and financial experts about exotic investment packages known as ‘credit derivatives’ during a Congressional hearing investigating Wall Street abuses.  Specifically, the House Agriculture Committee hearing today examined the role credit derivatives played in this current financial crisis and what must be done to prevent future problems.  ...
