Inauguration Tickets
I have already received a large number of requests for tickets to the Presidential Inauguration. Unfortunately, my office will not receive tickets to the Inauguration because I will not be a member of the 111th Congress. I am putting together a list of requests to pass along to Representative-Elect Chellie Pingree who will take office in January.
If you would like your name added to this list, please email ME01Inaugurationtickets@gmail.com with your name, phone number, and how many tickets you would like.
General Information about Inauguration- 240,000 tickets are available for access to the U.S. Capitol grounds.
- Tickets will not be distributed to Members’ offices until the week prior to inauguration.
- Most tickets are for standing room only on the U.S. Capitol grounds extending to 4th street. These are not assigned seats.
- There will be limited access to restroom facilities in these areas and NO warming stations.
- Strollers are NOT permitted. Infants do NOT require tickets, but all children who can walk must have a ticket.
- Gates will open at 9am and security will be stringent.
- Public transportation is STRONGLY encouraged as parking near the Capitol area is prohibited. Tickets for the seated and standing areas are color coded and will require ticketholders to use specific Metro stations to get to the north and south sections of the Capitol. Additionally, both the Archives/Navy Memorial and Smithsonian Metro stations will be CLOSED.
- Areas west of 4th street are open to the public for general admission. People can wait there as long as they like prior to the ceremony, however camping is strictly prohibited.
- The use and placement of viewing screens and sound systems for these areas has not yet been finalized.
- The U.S. Capitol will be closed to visitors from Saturday, January 17 at 5:00pm through Tuesday, January 20 at 3:00pm. This means tours of the Capitol will resume Wednesday, January 21 at 8:30am.
