In addition to ranger-led activities, there are other ways to enjoy a guided tour through the park.  Concession boat captains narrate boat tours along the mangrove coast at both Flamingo and the Gulf Coast, and tram drivers help you explore the Shark Valley Slough.  Canoe and bicycle rentals are available for self-guided exploration.

Shark Valley Tram Tours

Offers guided two-hour narrated tram tours along a fifteen-mile loop in the heart of the "River of Grass".  Tours depart from the benches and provide a great opportunity to see wildlife and learn about the Freshwater ecosystem.  Bicycles are also available for rent.  Reservations are strongly recommended during the dry, winter season when Everglades National Park is at its busiest.

Everglades National Park Boat Tours, Gulf Coast

Offers narrated boat tours of the Ten-Thousand Islands leaving from the Gulf Coast Marina area.  Operates everyday, year-round Canoe rentals are also available to explore nearby waterways.

Lodging and restaurant facilities are unavailable and the marina has limited services due to Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma of 2005. Plans to rebuild are under review.
