Turning Around Low-Performing Schools Initiative

The mission of this initiative is to increase student achievement in low-performing schools. By mobilizing the resources of the U.S. Department of Education to support states, local school districts and individual schools, the initiative seeks to improve the quality of school leadership and the teaching force, implement coordinated, research-based reforms, and urge more effective use of local, state and federal resources in these schools.
