MarsQuest
The United States and other nations will undertake unprecedented exploration of the planet Mars over the next decade, creating a unique opportunity to educate the public about the "red planet" and space exploration in general. In response to this opportunity, the Space Science Institute developed MarsQuest, a project that includes a 5,000-square foot touring exhibit, a comprehensive education program and a 40-minute planetarium show. The exhibit, which is supported in part by the National Science Foundation, has toured the country for the past three years and was recently updated to include the latest discoveries from missions to Mars and new components about the weather and the search for life on Mars. MarsQuest also features an interactive Web site called MarsQuest Online, where users can launch a spacecraft to Mars, explore its volcanoes and canyons, solve mysteries about the search for life on the red planet and explore the latest Rover images.
