New septic design and installation

A site application design and installation permit are required when a new septic system* is constructed. Construction must not begin until the installation permit is posted on the site/property.
*A septic system is also referred to as an "on-site sewage system" in official documents, forms and applications.

Winter Water Table Review:
If conditions on the property indicate a high seasonal water table, a winter water table review may be required. Consult with your septic system professional regarding this matter.
Questions to ask your septic system designer & installer:
As with any person you may hire, you should interview at least 2-3 people. These are some helpful questions to ask when choosing your designer and/or installer. Click here for lists of septic professionals.

- Stub-out inspection

Ask your master installer:

- Does the bid include the County fees?
- Do you charge extra for backfill labor?
- Is the cost for the backfill material included?
- Is the timer (if required) included in the bid?
- Do you guarantee your work? Will you complete repairs if there is a problem?
