Direct Services

Emergency Service Patrol (ESP): Provides screening for publicly inebriated persons in the downtown Seattle area and transportation to appropriate service agencies. Responds to calls from the 9-1-1 emergency dispatch system within a service area generally bounded by Denny Way on the north, Spokane Street on the south, Broadway to Roy Street on the east, and Elliot Bay on the west.

Involuntary Treatment Services:  Provides a therapeutic intervention for chemically dependent persons who are unable to make a rational decision about their need for treatment due to their drinking or drug use.

Dutch Shisler Sobering Support Center: Provides transportation, sobering, and intensive case management services to homeless chronic substance abusers. Located in downtown Seattle.

Central Administration and Community Contracts

Grants and Special Contracts: Implements demonstration, research and pilot projects through a variety of state and federal funding sources.

Treatment Unit: Provides assistance, consultation, training opportunities for treatment providers to coordinate and develop a continuum of services. Addresses the needs of substance abusing and chemically dependent youth, adults and families through residential, methadone and outpatient drug-free contracted community-based organizations. Services are provided in schools and other community settings and include alcohol/drug education, and criminal justice system diversion of offenders. Included are comprehensive programs addressing the needs of racial/ethnic minorities through collaborative efforts with the community and other health care providers.
