About us

Public Health - Seattle & King County's Violence and Injury Prevention Unit focuses on a number of critical yet entirely preventable health issues including deaths and injuries from motor vehicle crashes, firearms, and drownings.

The Unit's purpose is to plan, implement, and evaluate selected approaches that reduce death and injury for high-risk groups of people living in King County. Ultimately, the Unit works to improve the health of people living in Seattle and King County.
