Public Health teen clinics

  • What is a teen clinic?
Teen Health Clinics and School-based clinics provide education and services for pregnancy prevention, contraception, pregnant and parenting teens, physical exams, STD education, alcohol, drug and mental health services just for teens aged 12-20. Teen clinics come in different forms. Many teen clinics are actually special hours during a regular clinic's schedule that are reserved just for teens. And some clinics only see teens. At Public Health, we have both types of teen clinics. Teen clinics are a safe, confidential place for teens to receive services, get information, or just to hang out.

  • Can I still come in even if it's not a teen clinic time?
Yes! You can come to our clinics at any time during our regular clinic hours (except for the Kent Teen Clinic which only offers the times listed), whether or not it is during teen clinic times. If you don't want to wait to be seen, we do recommend making an appointment.

  • Is my visit confidential?
In Washington State, all health care services offered at family planning clinics are confidential. This means that you don't need written permission from your parents to get services like birth control, annual exams, STD tests, and pregnancy tests. It also means we will not tell anyone about your visit unless you would like us to. We always encourage teens to talk with a parent or another trusted adult about their care with us. However, it is ultimately the teen's decision who to involve. Find out more about teens and confidentiality.
