Deck resurfacing begins at I-5 exits 11 and 21
Project Information

Overpasses scheduled to close for 6-8 weeks

Construction begins in September to replace the concrete decks on two Interstate 5 overpasses at exits 11 and 21. The work will detour local northbound traffic for 6-8 weeks.

Work is scheduled to begin by closing the exit 11 overpass on Monday, September 10th and the Exit 21 overpass on Monday September 17.

Southbound traffic at the interchanges will not be affected.

Project scope
  • The project prepares the bridge deck surface with a hydromill, which produces a strong stream of water to remove the top inch of concrete bridge deck;
  • Bridge deck resurfacing with a microsilica-enhanced concrete;
  • Asphalt paving approximately 100 feet of the bridge approaches.

Advance warning signs will be installed to alert and direct motorists to the detours.  J.W. Fowler of Dallas, Oregon is the contractor. Project budget is $350,000.
