In 1999, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service initiated the National Fish Passage Program to work with agencies, private organizations and landowners to restore natural flows and fish migrations.

Essential to this voluntary and non-regulatory program, is partnerships. One definition of a partner is "one associated with another or others as a contributor of capital in business or a joint venture, usually sharing its risks and profits" (Webster's Unabridged Dictionary, Barnes and Nobles 1992). For purposes of the National Fish Passage Program, ‘capital' can signify funds, labor, volunteer or payed time, equipment, land/property access, or technical assistance such as expertise or liaison.

The Fish Passage Program has worked with 141 different partners to implement on-the-ground fish passage projects. The purpose of this web page is to highlight and acknowledge all our cooperators, so they too can share our accomplishments and resource benefits.
