IT standards index

Desktop Hardware

Standards for base, medium, and advanced configurations are listed to comply with the business needs of the user. Each configuration is available with Ethernet connectivity. Token Ring users must addtionally purchase a Token Ring card.

Laptop

Notebook (Laptop PC) hardware configurations are listed with optional docking station or port replicator hardware and with Ethernet or Token Ring connectivity.

Network

Network includes the established DHS standards for Intel-based server hardware .

Web Hosting & Development

This page includes the DHS approved server configurations, Web application development environment, and language standards.

  • 06/13/05:  Changed link text from "End User Computing" to "DHS IT Standards List".
  • 06/06/05:  Added link to the new "End User Computing" spreadsheet and eliminate 2 other links ("Other Hardware" and "Software").
  • 01/13/2005: Web Development Page: Modified the web page to reflect the new hardware standard for UNIX machines. Also updated the Application server section to match the tools section.
  • 01/13/2005: Network Page: Modified the web page to reflect the hardware vendors new name

NOTE: Purchases of Desktop Hardware, Laptops, and many PC peripherals (Other Hardware) are now restricted by the DAS Smart-Buy contract. In general, DHS is required to puchase these products from a vendor designated by the Smart-Buy contract.
