The 1,170 acres at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park is a mix of woodlands, riparian areas, prairie, fallow fields, mowed grass, and wetlands. There are approximately 462 species of plants found throughout the park, with diligent and observant volunteers and staff discovering more species each year.

Did You Know?
British soldiers captured at the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812 were marched to a prison camp located near present day Mound City Group unit, Hopewell Culture National Historical Park.
