Volunteer for King County Parks recycling crew and see Marymoor concerts – for free!

There’s still time to lend Mother Nature a hand by improving recycling rates while catching great concerts for free at the outdoor concerts at King County’s Marymoor Park.

Sign up as a volunteer on the Marymoor Recycling Crew and you’ll help promote recycling and composting at the concerts, which take place through mid-September in the park’s beautiful amphitheatre setting.

Recycling Crew volunteers teach concert-goers about sorting their recyclable cups and compostable food scraps and help keep the Marymoor concert venue free of litter.

In exchange for their work to safeguard the environment, Recycling Crew volunteers receive free entry and parking to the shows at which they volunteer.

Volunteers are needed for the following shows:

STS9, Blackalicious – Aug. 23;

Willie Nelson – Aug. 28;

Sheryl Crow and James Blunt – Aug. 30:

Backstreet Boys – Sept. 6;

G. Love & Special Sauce with the John Butler Trio – Sept. 7;

Michael Franti and Spearhead – Sept. 12; and

KNDD 107.7 The End’s Endfest ‘08 – Sept. 13

A minimum commitment of three concerts is preferred, and shift hours vary depending on show times. Training will be provided on site. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and service learning credit is available.

Volunteers will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, and anyone interested in participating is encouraged to sign up today and submit their concert requests.

Details are available by contacting Marymoor Park, at 206-205-3661, or marymoorpark@kingcounty.gov. Include your name, contact information, telephone number, and how you heard about volunteering, and identify the shows for which you are interested in volunteering.
