Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Host Meeting of U.S. Chief Executive Officers and Foreign Ambassadors of the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will host a meeting of U.S. Chief Executive Officers who have been engaged in the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate; the Ambassadors from partner nations; Senators Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Mark Pryor (D-AR); principals from the Departments of Commerce and Energy and other interested parties on Thursday, February 9, 2006.

Opening remarks by Secretary Rice, followed by remarks by Senator Hagel and Senator Pryor about the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate will take place in the Department of State Treaty Room at 10:00 a.m. These remarks will be ON-THE-RECORD and ON-CAMERA.
The six partner nations include Australia, China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea and the United States.

Pre-set time for cameras: 9:00 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance
Final access time for photographers and writers: 9:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives who plan to attend this event but do not have a State Department building pass must enter through the 23rd Street entrance of the State Department building by 9:30 a.m. in order to clear through security.
Press may attend this open press event upon presentation of one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
