National Launch of Odyssey Day to Promote Alternative Vehicles
Alternative Fleet Vehicles from D.C., Virginia and Maryland on Display
WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, September 30, 2008, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Acting Assistant Secretary of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy John Mizroch, along with the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) and local Clean City partners from Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. will launch the 2008 Clean Cities kick-off of National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey, dedicated to promoting petroleum-free choices in transportation. This event is the first of more than 80 AFV events nationwide.
The on-site AFV display will include fleet vehicles from the U.S. General Services Administration, D.C. Department of Public Works, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), and the United States Postal Service, among others.
