Overview

The Department of Human Services Office of Contracts and Procurement (OC&P) is responsible for purchasing or contracting for services, equipment, and supplies which enable the Department to meet it’s mission, which is "assisting people to become independent, healthy and safe."

OC&P provides statewide contract and procurement services for the Department and some of its partners. The OC&P team accomplishes this by employing a skilled and diverse workforce which is committed to providing exceptional quality service to our employees, partners and vendors. This Web site has been developed to provide information and to assist in the acquisition of goods and services.

Contracts office

The Contracts Office is responsible for preparing, issuing and awarding contracts to qualified vendors in a manner which protects people, assets and public trust.

Contract staff work in partnership with program related staff, procurement staff and vendors to insure that Goods and Services which cannot be delivered by agency employees are available in a manner which ensures that the Department meet its mission to “assist people to become independent, healthy and safe.”

Procurement office

The Procurement Office has overall responsibility for DHS purchasing practices.

Through the delegated authority of the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) the DHS Procurement Office insures legal and contract compliance in the procurement process. Specifically, it has the responsibility to solicit, purchase, and contract for Trade Services (janitorial contracts), Information Technology (servers, computers, software), Equipment Leases, and Goods and Services valued at over $5,000.00.

The office is also charged with locating products, developing specifications, soliciting to prospective vendors and creating purchase orders. All of these activities ensure that DHS can achieve its mission of "assisting people to become independent, healthy and safe."
