The Workforce Development Council (WDC) was created in 1997, as constituted by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) requirements for the WIA State Workforce Investment Board. Responsibilities of the council are to plan, coordinate and monitor the provision of WIA services as well as serve as the Governor's WIA advisor. The council is comprised of 31 members from both the public and private sector and they host open meetings every other month. Each member also serves on a sub-committee of their choice.
