The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. Through its extensive network of field offices and partnerships with other public and private organizations, SBA is able to deliver its services to the most remote areas of the U.S.

The Hawaii District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration is located in the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building, at 300 Ala Moana Boulevard, Room 2-235, Box 50207, Honolulu, Hawaii 96850.

Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Hawaii District Office, under the leadership of District Director Andrew K. Poepoe, oversees the delivery of SBA's programs throughout the State of Hawaii, the Territories of Guam and American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
