Abstract	It is the responsibility of Utility and Railroad Services to preserve the safety and efficiency of the state and state-aid highway system while administering the location of public services infrastructure. This website provides information on current projects, information on railroads including a map of the Maine rail system (PDF file), and points of contact. On the Utility Issues page, the user will find information on the Laws and Policies that relate to utilities in the State of Maine as well as links to the Utility Task Force, the Location Permits Page, statistics, and numerous other utility web sites.
