Abstract	This is the homepage for BART's short range transit plan and capital improvement plan. The page has links to the current draft plan plus earlier versions. The SRTP/CIP document is a management and financial planning tool, providing a long-term perspective for the current year operating and capital programs and laying out the Districts approach to capital investment decision-making and capital funding strategy. The document gives an overview of BARTs organization, facilities, and fare structure, as well as information on current rail ridership, service, and operating performance. The document also provides forecast ridership and future service plans, which include the four-station BART-SFO Extension to Millbrae and the San Francisco International Airport. One of the critical themes encompassed by the capital program is a continued focus on the vital renovation and replacement of the existing physical infrastructure necessary to maintain current levels of service to BART passengers. The capital program also discusses investments in capacity enhancing projects to address cycles of dramatic growth in ridership. The capital program includes a section on activities in the arena of station-related planning, development, access and capacity, highlighting another critical theme for the District, creating successful partnerships with communities in order to facilitate access, improve the passenger experience, and promote core values, such as prudent land use.
