Abstract	This document summarizes the key issues, lessons learned, conclusions and proceedings of the United States-Japan Mass Transit Security Workshop held in Tokyo, Japan on January 17, 2002. This meeting was jointly sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) of the U.S. Department of. Transportation (USDOT) and the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. In addition, two other transportation conferences were concurrently held in Tokyo to examine Intelligent Transportation Systems and conduct a Ministerial Conference on environmentally friendly transportation. Both of these conferences included security-related sessions that are included in the relevant topic discussions and reflected in more detail in the appendices.
