Abstract	The Maritime Administration collects annual data on the tonnage of U.S. commerce shipped aboard U.S.-flag and foreign vessels. Data are available by type of waterway, foreign/domestic commerce, and type of vessel. Foreign commerce tonnage is available by state and region. Available data series include 1) tons of commerce shipped aboard U.S.-flag vessels and foreign vessels and 2) tons of commerce shipped through the Great Lakes, inland waterways, and costal waters.
