Abstract The collection of for-hire trucking company financial and operating statistics (F&OS) data is a mandatory program (regulations: 49 CFR 1420) managed by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Office of Motor Carrier Information (OMCI). F&OS data can be downloaded by row (trucking company), groups of rows (e.g., segment of the industry), or as a whole, with each column of data representing F&OS characteristics of the trucking companies taken from the line items and schedules on the 1999 Form M (annual reports). Consult the OMCI/BTS web site for more information and copies of Form M and Form QFR.
