The Oregon Transportation Commission will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, in the Riverview Room of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, 204 West Marine Drive, in Asotria.

Commissioners will hear a monthly status report on the ConnectOregon program, Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, the Oregon Transportation Investment Acts (OTIA I and II) and the OTIA III State Bridge Delivery Program.

Members of the commission will be asked to approve an Immediate Opportunity Fund grant to the Port of Portland, city of Troutdale and Multnomah County in the amount of $1 million for access improvements to a proposed Federal Express ground hub in Troutdale. In addition, commissioners will be asked to approve an Immediate Opportunity Fund grant to the Port of Hood River in the amount of $250,000 for improvements to industrial lands under the port’s jurisdiction.

Also on the agenda is a presentation about the history of U.S. Highway 101, and a briefing about a new publication from ODOT’s  Motor Carrier Transportation Division aimed at reducing truck-at-fault crashes.

In conjunction with the meeting, OTC members will participate in a workshop on Tuesday, March 18, at the same location. The workshop, which begins at noon, includes a discussion with members of the Northwest Area Commission on Transportation, and recognition of ODOT Maintenance employees for their service during the winter storms.
