South Medford Interchange Project
Current Information
Coming Soon: the partial opening of the South Medford Interchange. By the end of October, The Oregon Department of Transportation and Wildish Standard Paving plan to partially open the interchange. It will mean a change in traffic flow for local and interstate users.

The partial opening will allow completion of the next phase of the project: the closure of the old northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp, just south of Barnett Rd. This will help the contractor finish the new northbound off and southbound on ramps. It cannot be done otherwise because the ramps conflict with each other.

Prior to the partial opening there will be advanced signing on the interstate and on Medford streets. Permanent signing will also be in place on the interstate and local road system.

The South Medford Interchange Project is vital to the City of Medford. It is a key gateway to the city, and to the city's economic future. The interchange's safety, congestion and air quality problems will be addressed by the South Medford Interchange Project.

Beam set over I-5 a success; construction on interchange continues toward completion
The March beam set over Interstate 5 went off without a hitch. The 40 beams set over five nights  form a corridor of about 250 feet. When complete, the underpass on the interstate will be lighted during the night time hours.
