The state Department of Transportation will begin offering weekend valet parking service for travelers at the Honolulu International Airport commuter terminal starting Friday, August 1.

The valet parking service at the commuter terminal, operated by Ampco System Parking, is for weekend drop-off on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The drop-off area is located on the mauka-end of the commuter terminal.  When travelers return, pick-up will be along the outer curb fronting the commuter terminal lobby (see attached map).  At the time of vehicle drop-off, travelers will need to provide date, flight and time of arrival information for vehicle pick-up.  Vehicle pick-up will be available Monday through Sunday, 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The parking valet fee is $20 per calendar day, prepaid.

The valet parking service was originally started at the Honolulu International Airport, interisland terminal, with the intent to add additional locations if there was a demand.  This pilot project for weekend service at the commuter terminal will determine the need to expand further during the weekdays.  Many mainland airports such as Los Angeles, Newark, Oakland and Toronto provide similar valet service.

Valet service at the interisland terminal will still be available daily from 5:30 a.m.

to 10:00 p.m.
