General Information |

Out-of-state residents who's home state does not require snowmobile registration may purchase a snowmobile permit to operate their unregistered snowmobile in Oregon.
These permits are valid for up to 60 days.
If you are an Oregon resident, you must register your snowmobile.

Fees |
|
The fee for a snowmobile permit is $7, regardless of the number of days for which it is issued (1 - 60 days).

How to Apply |
|
To apply, you must provide DMV with a request that includes:
- Your name;
- Your address;
- The year, make and body style of your snowmobile or a product identification number;
- Your state of residence;
- Desired permit duration (specify 1 to 60 days); and
- Payment (check made out to "Oregon DMV" or money order).
You may submit your request in the form of a letter, with your payment (see the Fees section above), in person at a DMV office or by mail.
