OCCYSHN

Our mission is to improve the health, development and well-being of children and youth with special health needs and their families.

Oregon Center for
Children and Youth with Special Health Needs

We honor the strengths and diversity of families; provide leadership in policy development and advocacy; work with communities to strengthen their capacity to meet the needs of children and their families; and support efforts to coordinate and maximize resources.

We work with families, providers and communities to build capacity through training programs, sponsorship of multidisciplinary clinics, public health agencies, and community planning activities. We work closely with the Oregon Office of Family Health and as a Maternal and Child Health agency are responsible for addressing six program areas and six Key System Outcomes. Our primary goal is to ensure optimal health and functioning of a child and family in their community by improving availability and access to care, and improving the overall quality and efficiency of care, thus decreasing the costs of care related to the chronic condition.
