Death of Shaykh Saad Abdullah Al Sabah
The United States extends its condolences to the government and the people of Kuwait on the death of Shaykh Saad Abdullah Al Sabah.

Shaykh Saad Abdullah Al Sabah was an important leader during critical historical moments, including the Kuwaiti democratic transformation, and we appreciate the contributions he made to bring our two countries closer together since the 1991 liberation. The United States will continue to be a committed partner with the government and people of Kuwait as our two nations work together to further our shared goals in the region.
