Focus on Employees

What’s new with Move More?  Plenty!

Look for these changes online:

  1. We’re happy to welcome several new gyms to the Gym Discount Program.  The Gym Discount Program now has over 27 partners representing 137 facilities in the greater Puget Sound Area.  Check out the new participants and see if any meet your needs.

  2. New Heart Walk Web site.  Hundreds of King Countyemployees will participate in theHeartWalk Puget Sound Heart Walk on October 4th.  This important event raises funds for the Heart Association and brings together employees with their friends and families for a 5k walk along the viaduct and a celebration at Qwest field following the walk.  Want to be inspired?  Read about Hess Sellers who’s been personally touched by heart disease and walks each year with the county.

  3. Really cool tools have been added to the Resources and Tools page.  Our favorite – online videos showing yoga, stretching and hand exercises (link to this new tool) you can do in your chair.  Most of us sit all day long – whether at desk or some other site (Metro bus) sitting is hard on our bodies.  These stretches and exercises can help alleviate the strain on our bodies.    Close runner up – an awesome and free online source for health info, fitness recommendations, nutrition tips and even daily reminders.  SparkPeople.com is focused on life-long changes to help you be a healthier person.  The interactive tools are great!

Please contact us if you have thoughts or tips you’d like to share.
