HIRE System
About the HIRE System

Oregon State government strives to promote the employment of qualified individuals with disabilities in state service.

Through the HIRE (Hiring Individuals Ready for Employment) System, state government will serve as a model employer of individiuals who have disabilities.

The Department of Administrative Services, Human Resource Services Division (HRSD) and the Oregon Disabilities Commission, in partnership with state agencies and individuals with disabilities, have created a statewide hiring system to enhance opportunities for qualified individuals with disabilities for state employment.

Objectives

Through the counselor, the HIRE System identifies abilities and skills of qualified applicants and increases the opportunities for job interviews in the state system. We are committed to:
  • Providing a streamlined system that allows state agencies to access a pool of qualified individuals with disabilities to interview.
  • Providing state agencies a recruiting tool that opens more doors to employment for individuals with disabilities.
  • Creating a more diverse workforce that utilizes the talents of people with disabilities.
