Programs

We prepare the budget that the Governor gives to the Legislature at the start of each legislative session; this is called the Governor's Recommended Budget.

BAM instructs agencies on how to develop their budget requests and makes changes to reflect the Governor's decisions.

BAM monitors agency spending and management to make sure it is in line with legislative and gubernatorial intent and complies with all laws.

BAM works with state agencies on issues that come up during the interim--sometimes appearing before the Legislative Emergency Board.

BAM helps agencies coordinate, manage, and budget for major capital financing or construction projects by issuing Certificates of Participation (pdf) to finance capital construction and infrastructure.

BAM helps agencies manage about three million acres of public land; this work includes disposing surplus public real property.

BAM coordinates the state's bonded debt process.
