set up a quality-of-worklife program
A consultant reports on his role in assisting American Telephone & Telegraph Co. and the Communications Workers of America establish a quality-of-worklife program designed to continue after divestiture. The Monthly Labor Review asked Michael Maccoby, who has served as consultant to both the company and the union, to report on the origin and development of this unusual example of labor-management cooperation. This is his first-person account.
