The following common insects are safe for use as pets, pet food, biological control agents, educational displays and release in Oregon. Many of them are for sale in pet stores, farm supply outlets or through catalogues. This is only a partial list, other insects may also be suitable. Note that shipment of most insects across state lines requires a U.S. Department of Agriculture permit.
