  Print this page Print

Managed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the test was largely funded by the U.S. DOT's Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (JPO). The U.S. DOT team included technical experts from the JPO as well as from the Research and Special Programs Administration, the Federal Highway Administration, and the USDOT Office of Intermodalism. The Deployment Team was led by the Battelle Memorial Institute with support from the American Transportation Research Institute, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, and QUALCOMM® Incorporated.

The independent project evaluation was being conducted by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

Industry participants included numerous private shippers, motor carriers, and consignees. An advisory panel comprised of public and private hazardous materials stakeholders was created by Battelle to provide guidance to the project.
