Point Betsie Recreation Cottage
Location: Located in northwest lower MI on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, 230 miles NNE of Chicago, IL and 275 miles NW of Detroit, MI. Address is 3526 Pt. Betsie Road, Benzie County, MI.
Season of Operation: Year round.
Description: The cottage is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath ranch house. A deck wraps around the south and west sides of the house providing great views of the lake. Sand dunes surround the cottage and access to Lake Michigan beach is only 200 yards from the back door. The cottage is nearby the historical Pt. Betsie lighthouse, on a road ending at Lake Michigan.
Facilities: 1 cottage.
Activities: Shopping, hiking, skiing, golf, fishing, and beachcombing are all within 10 miles, or closer, of the cottage. Traverse City, MI, with a large mall and downtown shopping center, is 23 miles northeast. Shopping, restaurants, and a city market are located in Frankfort, 5 miles south.
Recreation Equipment Available: None.
General Information: Cottage has 2 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Kitchen is furnished with refrigerator, stove, microwave, cooking/eating utensils, pots and pans. Bed linen, blankets, and towels are provided for your convenience. Cottage comfortably sleeps 6. Smoking is not allowed.
Reservations: Reservations are required and can be made only by telephone. Should be made as early as possible -- 90 days in advance for active duty personnel and their dependents. 60 days in advance for all other eligible patrons. Advance payment is required no later than 30 days prior to arrival. Maximum length of stay is 7 days. For reservations or other information, contact:

Driving Instructions: From Detroit, MI: Take I-75 to US 10, US 10 to Route 115 to Frankfort, MI. From Chicago, IL: I-94 to US 31, to Route 115 to Frankfort, MI. In Frankfort, follow the road signs to the US Coast Guard Station. After checking in, proceed north on Route 22 to Pt. Betsie Road. The cottage is ΒΌ mile east of the lighthouse, Number 3526.
