Kodiak Nemetz RV Park

Location:  Nemetz RV Park is located at the end of Barometer Street just off Tom Stiles Road approximately two miles from US Coast Guard ISC Kodiak front gate and approximately five miles from the town of Kodiak, Alaska.

Season of Operation:  Open 1 May to 1 October.

Description:  Nemetz RV Park is situated between the majestic Barometer Mountain and Lake Louise at the edge of an open field and within walking distance to the lake.

Facilities:  Northern Lights Fitness Facility with Cardio & Exercise Rooms, Indoor Pool, Racquetball Court, Solar Therapy Room, Indoor Golf Cage, and Basketball Court, Tsunami Lanes Bowling Center, Bear Valley 9 hole golf course, Auto Hobby shop, Woodworking shop, Boat House, Teen Center, Movie Theater, Food Service Facilities, Golden Anchor Sports Pub and Lounge, and a Coast Guard Exchange.

Activities:  Fishing, Hiking, rafting, soccer, and a playground.

Recreation Equipment Available:  Full MWR program is located on ISC Kodiak.  A large Coast Guard Exchange, commissary, and chapel can also be found on base.

General Information:  The Nemetz RV Park has four spaces all equipped with electricity, water, and sewer hookups included in the fee.  Only recreational vehicle or hard shell trailers are permitted to use the RV Park.  The sites can accommodate a maximum 40 foot vehicle.  All sites include a fire ring with a grate for cooking, a picnic table, and covered trash cans.  Fires are not permitted except within the designated fire ring.  Use of camp stoves and BBQ grills are allowed but must be properly stored for safety and to keep bears away.  Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash and supervised at all times.  Pets may not be left alone outside.  Owners must clean up after their pets daily and will be subject to eviction if not.  There is overflow parking for vehicles and a playground for children.

Reservations:  Eligibility is in accordance with Chapter 3 of the MWR Manual.  To secure reservations, contact the MWR Guest House at (907) 487-5446, Ext. 1.  Reservations may be made by phone or fax with a Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.  Credit card information is required to confirm and hold the reservation.  Late cancellations or no shows will be charged for one night.  For more information, please contact us as listed below:

Driving Instructions: 

From the airport: Turn left at the stop sign on Rezanof Drive.  The main gate entrance is 1.5 miles (on the left).  Pass through the main gate and turn left on Albatross Avenue, (second left).  Stay to the right at the “Y” intersection.  The Guest House is on the right.  

From town: Take Rezanof Drive, you will eventually pass the airport on the left and continue with directions as noted above.  The Coast Guard Base is approximately 7 miles.

To Nemetz RV Park from Base:  Leaving the front gate, turn right on Rezanof Drive.  Continue approximately 1.5 miles, past Kodiak International Airport across the Buskin River Bridge, turn left on Anton Larsen Road.  Go one block and turn right on Tom Stiles Road.  Continue 2 blocks and turn right on Barometer.  Nemetz RV Park is located at the end of the road.
