Townsend Inlet Recreational Lodging
Location: Sea Isle City, NJ -- 15 miles north of Cape May, NJ, and 30 miles south of Atlantic City, NJ.
Season of Operation: Year round.
Description: Former Coast Guard Station offering clean peaceful beaches, sea breezes, and quiet solitude.
Facilities: 4 apartments in a house that share a common kitchen, and dining room. Apartments 3 and 4 share a common bathroom..
Activities: Bicycling, swimming, and fishing.
Recreation Equipment Available: Bicycles, beach passes, sports equipment, and barbecues.
General Information: Maximum occupancy of 6 people per apartment. Cooking utensils, cutlery and small kitchen appliances are furnished. Bed linens, blankets, and towels are provided. Daily maid service is not provided. Cribs and rollaways are available on request. Smoking and Pets are not allowed. Due to operational requirements, adverse weather or safety hazards, Commander, CG Group/Air Station Atlantic City may deny occupancy or order evacuation of rooms already reserved or occupied. Refunds will be provided.
Reservations: Reservations are required. All reservation requests may be submitted in writing or made by telephone between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, seven days a week. For reservations or information, contact:

When phoning, if you get an answering machine, leave your name, telephone number, and a short message. We will return your call as soon as possible. Please do not assume you have a reservation without verifying it with the manager.
Reservations for active duty Coast Guard personnel and their dependents may be requested 90 days in advance. Requests submitted before authorized reservation acceptance time will be returned to the originator. Reservations for all other eligible patrons are considered using a priority system in accordance with the Morale, Well-Being, and Recreation Manual. Payments must be received by the 14th day after you make your reservation to be confirmed. Payment must be made by check or money order for the exact amount made payable to "Townsend Inlet Recreational Fund." Occupancy will be limited to 7 days, including 1 weekend. Extensions of occupancy may be granted by the Recreation Quarters Attendant on a space available basis. Reservations must be cancelled at least 14 days prior to occupancy or payment will be forfeited, and no refund will be made to the applicant. Check-In: Time: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM during summer call (609) 677-2028 to set time during winter.
Check-Out: Time: 10:00 AM
Guests must present their military/civilian identification card upon check-in to the Recreation Quarters Attendant. Late arrivals may pick up room keys from the drop-box and must check-in with the Recreation Quarters Attendant the following morning. Departing guests must check out with the Recreation Quarters Attendant.
Driving Instructions: From the North - take the Garden State Expressway Exit 17. Travel east to Sea Isle City and follow to Landis Ave. Turn right on Landis and continue to 82nd street. From the South - take the Garden State Expressway Exit 13. Travel east to Avalon and follow to Ocean Drive. Go north along Ocean Drive, which changes to Landis Ave. The building is located on a full city block at the intersection of Landis Ave. and 82nd Street.
