Point Fermin Guest Quarters
Location: San Pedro, CA. San Pedro is located approximately 20 miles south of Los Angeles.
Season of Operation: Year round.
Description: Situated on a bluff in a city park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It provides an unrestricted view of the greater Long Beach area and Catalina Island.
Facilities: 1, 2-bedroom house.
Activities: Playground in surrounding park, and beach access is within walking distance (no beach access from quarters).
Recreation Equipment Available: None.
General Information: Master bedroom has queen-size bed, and the second bedroom has a twin and a double bed. Sunroom has a day bed. The house sleeps 6. Facility has 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, family room, and living room. Amenities include: 2 TVs with Prime Star, 2 VCRs, 1 stereo (CD player with surround sound), alarm clocks in each room, gas stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender, popcorn popper, washer, and dryer. The house is fully stocked with linens (bed and bath), pots and pans, dishes, and BBQ grill. A pay phone is inside the house. Guests need to bring their own toiletries and food. There is a wooden deck outside overlooking the ocean, with limited seating. Guests are required to clean the facility after use including vacuuming, dusting, and washing any used linens. Cleaning supplies, like laundry soap, glass cleaner, etc., are provided. Pets are not allowed. Keys for the facility are picked up and dropped off at Integrated Support Command (ISC) San Pedro, Officer-of-Day office.
Reservations: Required. Tentative reservations may be made by phone, but must be confirmed with completed application. Reservations are made up to 6 months in advance. Fees are based on rank/pay grade. A reservation deposit of $50 is due at time of application. Fees are collected at time of stay. Maximum length of stay is 7 days. Driving Instructions: From ISC San Pedro, exit the base via South Seaside Ave. Follow on through Terminal Way, make a left on Ferry Street (2nd light). Go straight; turn right to take State Road 47 entering the Vincent Thomas Bridge (towards San Pedro). Towards the end of the bridge, get in the left lane and follow signs to the Gaffey Street exit. Make a left on Gaffey Street; stay on it till it ends. You will see a park – go into the parking lot, turn right to a sign (which is on the left side) that states, "AUTHORIZED VEHICLES ONLY," turn onto the concrete walkway/driveway and follow it around to the house. The quarters are located waterside of the lighthouse. Open the locked gate, park inside (2 vehicles only) and re-lock the gate. Enjoy your stay.
