Graphical Weather Story Began Monday
On Monday, June 25, 2007, NOAA’s National Weather Service, Central Region Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs), including WFO Indianapolis, began providing a new service online – the graphical “Weather Story”. The service goal is to provide a snap shot of the most important weather feature affecting the WFOs local forecast area.
The Weather Story is a graphical presentation of the most significant weather feature expected to impact the local area for the next seven days. The Weather Story can depict weather threats such as thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, strong winds, fire dangers, and excessive heat; or, highlight a pleasant stretch of weather.
The graphical Weather Story can be accessed on the local WFO web site at the tag that is found on the upper right corner of the “Top News of the Day” section of each Forecast Office web site.
This service is available on all NWS Central Region Forecast Office web sites and will be updated by 8 a.m. local time each day, or as forecast changes warrant. The National Weather Service will be collecting comments on the Graphical Weather Story until September 30, 2007. You may also view the Product Description Document for this experimental service. In addition, you may also send any questions or comments on the Weather Story to w-ind.webmaster@noaa.gov
