All NWS Weather Forecast
Offices (WFOs) locally generate gridded forecasts
for their area of responsibility. Those gridded forecasts
are transmitted to the national NDFD server, where they
are joined into national and regional-scale mosaics.
The Tropical Prediction
Center, Storm
Prediction Center and Climate
Prediction Center also produce some gridded forecasts. See the NDFD
Element Status Table for a list of NDFD weather
elements available for the coterminous U.S. (CONUS),
Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico/the Virgin Islands.
All NDFD data are available to download or view. See
the NDFD Access
Data web page for more information.
The NDFD contains two-dimensional gridded forecasts at
a 5 km horizontal resolution for the CONUS; click here for
the resolution for other parts of the U.S. |
