COASTAL HAZARD MESSAGE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON DC 830 PM EDT FRI SEP 19 2008 DCZ001-VAZ054-200800- /O.EXB.KLWX.CF.Y.0014.000000T0000Z-080920T0800Z/ DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA-ARLINGTON/FALLS CHURCH/ALEXANDRIA- 830 PM EDT FRI SEP 19 2008 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT SATURDAY... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT SATURDAY. A PERSISTENT NORTHEASTERLY FLOW HAS CAUSED WATER LEVELS TO BUILD ONE TO ONE AND A HALF FEET ABOVE NORMAL ACROSS THE UPPER TIDAL POTOMAC RIVER. THE HIGHER THAN NORMAL WATER LEVELS MAY CAUSE MINOR OR NUISANCE FLOODING BETWEEN 10 PM AND 2 AM AT SENSITIVE LOCATIONS ALONG THE RIVER WITHIN ALEXANDRIA AND WASHINGTON DC.
