Workshop on invasive and noxious weeds causing problems in the city of Des Moines. Learn how to identify problem plants and how to manage them so they don't take over your property.  See what weeds are in the area that could be showing up uninvited in your neighborhood.  Free and open to everyone.

Fall Gardening - Natural Care & Invasive Weeds
Are you interested in Green Gardening? Join us at Lewis Creek Park to learn about the mulching for weed control, ways to conserve water and other resources and how to make your yard safest for your children and pets. Sasha Shaw from the King County Noxious Weed Program will explain how to identify and control weeds. You will get a chance to see a few examples and information on how to control them. Bellevue Utilities’ Natural Yard Care guru Patricia Burgess will provide great information on how to garden Green. Pre-registration is required.

UW Botanic Gardens Professional Programs Course:  Identification and Management of Invasive Plants
Non-native weeds cause serious ecological disturbances by choking out other plant life, ultimately altering habitats and reducing biodiversity.  Sasha Shaw will discuss the devastating impact of invasive non-native plants on our local ecosystems. She will also teach identification and management of the most common problem invasives, including aquatic plants, found in our region.
