| Pregnancy Protection After Sexual Assault |

Beginning January 1, 2008, Oregon law requires hospitals to:
- Inform sexual assault victims about EC and treatment options, and
- Provide EC pills upon request to sexual assault victims before they leave the hospital.

The law requires DHS to produce informational materials relating to emergency contraception for the prevention of pregnancy in victims of sexual assault, to be distributed and used in all hospital emergency departments in Oregon.
These files are portable document format (pdf) that require Adobe Reader software to be read and printed.

(Two 8.5 x 11 pages designed to print double-sided as a folded pamphlet)
This handout must be provided to every female victim of sexual assault of childbearing age who presents at a hospital after a rape.

This notice must be posted in exam areas or other appropriate locations where patients can see it.

Cover Letter RE: Emergency Contraception Provision of HB 2700 (pdf)
This letter, along with copies of the EC Materials listed above, was mailed to hospitals to notify providers of the law effective January 1, 2008.
