Details for Memorial Service for PFC Thomas Lowell Tucker of Madras, Ore.
 
The Memorial Service is set for Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Deschutes Fair and Expo Center, 3800 SW Airport Way, Redmond, Oregon 97756.
 
Family, friends, members of the community of Central Oregon and throughout the state are invited to attend as we pay tribute to one of Oregon's fallen soldiers.
 
Governor Ted Kulongoski will speak at the request of the family, as will U.S. Representative Greg Walden and Brig. Gen. Gregg Martin representing the 101st Airborne. Tucker's sister, Teyva Tucker will then speak on behalf of the family.
 
Following the Memorial service will be a procession to the cemetery. The route for the procession will be as follows:
 
Departing the Fairgrounds, take Highway 97 heading north.
 
Turn west on State Highway 361
 
Turn east onto Fairgrounds St. in Madras
 
Turn left onto Culver Highway
 
Travel through Madras northbound on Highway 97 at Junction 2697 turn Right staying on Highway 97
 
 Travel three blocks and then turn right onto Loucks to the cemetery.
 
Full military honors will be presented at the graveside service to include: The Portland Highlanders Bagpipers; presentation of awards (Bronze Star, Purple Heart); Governor will present the flag of the State of Oregon; Gold Star Banner presentation; presentation by the Patriot Guard Riders; Blackhawk flyover; Honors team will fold flag for presentation to the mother Meg Tucker; rifle salute to honor the soldier and a solo bagpiper will play "The Hero". This will conclude the ceremonies.
 
A reception will be held at the Madras High School for family and friends and well wishers following internment.
 
"We continued to be overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from everyone throughout our community, Central Oregon, the state and the nation," stated Wes Tucker. "Please keep all our fallen heroes and those who remain in harms way in your through ts and prayers." He further stated, "I have friends at my job and Meg does also who have sons and daughters who are serving and I know others across the state and nation do also, we would ask everyone throughout the nation to support these brave men and women of our military." "They are as Tom stated before his death, "defending our country." God bless the U.S.A.
