Oregon Army National Guard to assist in search for missing man
The Oregon Army National Guard will assist in the search for a 31 year old man who fell into the Clackamas River southeast of Estacada.
A UH-60 Blackhawk launched from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Salem just after 11:30 a.m. Jan. 8 with a crew of five: pilot, co-pilot, crew chief, and two medics. The aircrew will search the river and riverbanks for signs of the missing man.
Clackamas County officials who are leading the search believe the man fell into the river the night of Jan. 7.
The ORARNG assists civilian authorities in search and rescue operations dozens of times each year. This is the first SAR mission supported by the ORARNG in 2006.
