National Guard Partners with MaxPreps to Congratulate South Medford High School

Salem, Ore. (April 12, 2007) – MaxPreps, America's most comprehensive high school sports web site, and the National Guard, the oldest component of the Armed Forces and one of the nation's longest-enduring institutions, join forces to congratulate South Medford High School for being one of the Top 25 High School basketball teams in the country.

This season, South Medford has risen to the challenge among a field of tough competitors to place in the MaxPreps Tournament of Champions with an overall national ranking of 8 out of over 15,000 high schools across the country.

"The National Guard is proud to be a part of this presentation, proud of South Medford, and proud to serve this community," Col. Ray Meyer of the Oregon National Guard said. "This honor represents excellence in teamwork. Just as it is in the National Guard, it takes dedication and hard work to produce a winning team as South Medford has done this year."

The National Guard continues its historic dual mission, providing to the states units trained and equipped to protect life and property, while providing to the nation units trained, equipped and ready to defend the United States and its interests, all over the globe.

The trophy presentation will take place in the gymnasium at South Medford High School on April 13, 2007 at 10:30am. The school is located at 815 South Oakdale Avenue, Medford, OR 97501.
