Public Disclosure Index
The public disclosure index provides a list of King County record types and their retention schedule. This schedule gives a description of the type of records unique to county agencies, and provides information on how long they are retained as well as the possible historical value. The Archives, Records Management and Mail Services section of Records, and Licensing Services Division (RALS) maintains the public disclosure index. The Local Records Committee, which approves the index, is made up of the Washington State Archivist, a representative appointed by the state auditor, and a representative appointed by the attorney general. The information and design of the public disclosure index is under revision. The current index covers schedules reviewed and approved since 2004. More schedules will be added as the retention schedules are revised and approved for publication.
