Workshop for builders addresses techniques for green deconstruction and salvage

Final workshop in King County GreenTools series set for May 14 in Seattle

Construction professionals who want to learn how salvage and deconstruction techniques can be an effective way of cutting costs and implementing sustainable building practices should plan on attending the final King County "GreenTools" workshop of the series, May 14, in Seattle.

Builders looking for assistance in executing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Built Green Projects can get the answers they need through this workshop.

"This workshop is a great tool for construction professionals to gain insight into the green building market and the incentives to for both builders and the environment," said King County GreenTools waste reduction specialist Kinley Deller and the workshop presenter.

"The key to effective salvage and deconstruction is knowing which techniques are most cost effective and when to apply them on a particular project," he said.

The workshops are presented by King County in partnership with the Association of General Contractors (AGC) Education Foundation. All workshops will be in the AGC conference center of the AGC Building,

Deconstruction and Salvage
Workshop presenter Kinley Deller is a waste reduction specialist with King County's GreenTools team. With more than nine years' experience in the waste reduction field, Deller has been working recently to promote deconstruction as a key to waste reduction option and has provided assistance on both government and private projects.

The workshop will provide contractors with the latest information on various forms of salvage and deconstruction techniques and will equip them with the knowledge needed to begin implementing these practices on the jobsite.
